Replacing save file doesn't work
I copied a 100% save file that I had downloaded to the game's folder, and it didn't do anything, it just started a new game. I tried this with 2 different save files.

How do I get the game to recognize the save file?

I figured it out!! If you are using HedgeModManager, go to its settings and uncheck 'redirect default save file'.

That's why it keeps making a new game or using the old save rather than the 100% file.

Wait, nevermind?: Find and download a 100% save file for this game. Then, copy the digits/name of your original file. After that, delete the original file. Finally, paste the digits/file name of the old save when renaming the new save to replace the digits/file name of your new file with the old one.

Summary: Give the 100% save file the same name as your old file and delete your old file. I think this 'fools' the game into thinking it is your old one and thus it won't keep making the old file because the 100% file would now share the same name as the old file, loading it instead.

Let me know if that helps! Remember to run the game once or twice to get the old file to reappear. Also, save file redirection probably has little to nothing to do with it. Keep it checked? Not sure what that even does really.
