Xbox 360 Controller Not Working
So I tested my controller by playing a few other games from my library and it seems to be functioning perfectly. When I boot up Lost World it won't work. Sonic also decides to move by himself when the first level starts. Anyone else experiencing this? I already put in for a refund but i'd love to get an answer that way other people can still have fun with the game.

You need to launch the configuration executable manually and set up the controller there.

works fine for me.
You asked for a refund because the controller didn't work immediatly?

More than likely, the game is picking up a connected USB device different from your controller and is trying to use that. The symptoms you describe are the typical tell-tale sign.

Rather than effectively auto-refunding the game, it probably would've been a better idea to seek out some support first.

Yeah I definitely acted too hastily, but I was just experiencing so many problems that I couldn't think of anything else to do. I did search for discussions relating to this problem and all I found were threads where no one had any answers so I figured I was out of luck. I'll probably give it another shot when it goes on sale or something.

MegaByte how do you launch the configuration executable manually?

Right click on the game in your library, then go to the properties, and then browse on your local files. The game's executable should be there.

I also have been experiencing problems with this. I cannot get my controller to work consistently. Sometimes when I launch the game, it detects it. I could then quit out and start it back up 5 minutes later and then it will not detect it. It is really a strange thing.

To anyone who's still struggling with this issue I resolved the it, though this may not be what's happening to you. A while back I'd installed some drivers so that I could use my WiiU Gamecube controller adapter with my PC and apparently Lost world was treating those non-exsistant Gamecube controllers as what was connected to my PC instead of my 360 gamepad. When Neildittmar said the problem might have something to do with other USB devices I eventually thought to try this. Again, I doubt this is what's causing any of your problems but if you have those drivers installed, try getting rid of them and it could fix your issues.

This was the problem for me too. The game seems to detect and prioritize vJoy devices.

Hey, I'm glad you were able to fix it too!
