Lava Mountain Zone 3 Boss and some other questions.

I'm stuck at the point where the red guy becomes gigantic and starts chasing Sonic as they go up. Then they arrive at the ceiling and the red guy smashes the 4 red platforms, meaning insta-death for Sonic.
How can I get past that point?

By the way, is there any tutorial for the parkour mechanic?
How do I go through the trails of rings at the middle of Lava Mountain Zone 3?

You have to bounce on those brown blocks at that red boss so that those blocks fall down and hit him. Do that enought times and you best him. I didn't know that at first as well.

The tutorials are spread through the game with those little info boxes that you can access at certain times with the back button on a controller (when there is a questionmark in the lower left)

To use the ring dash you have to transform into that green wisp and dash forward with the rings directly in front of you. You do that with the run or the spndash button,i forgot which one.
