FAQ
Q: Should I play the first game before this one?

Dragon Ruins II is designed as a standalone game. If you played the original, you'll catch a few nostalgic references.

Q: How long is it?

A rushed playthrough (completing one quest per area, single party) should take about 6 hours. If you decide to complete all quests, you can expect an extra 2-4 hours.

If you decide to try all possible parties, beat the ultimate boss, and track down and forge all of the ultimate weapons and armor, you can expect about 20 hours of playtime, and keep grinding your way through NG+ until you decide to stop.

Q: What about NG+?

Every time you defeat a dragon, his screams of agony will make monsters stronger. However, benched party members will also gain a few levels, so feel free to experiment with party composition, equipment, and whatnot.

Q: About that artwork...

Dragon Ruins II uses free artwork by Torio. Check out his Pixiv page: https://www.pixiv.net/en/users/5887541

What is the character creation process like now? Is it any more comprehensive than before?
What do the stats (DEX, AGI) etc actually do? :) STR increases I can see, but I feel it's pretty vague on the effect of other stats.

If a weapon uses them (Bow, Dagger), they contribute to attack power.

Outside of that: DEX is mostly used for lockpicking, while AGI boosts speed.

I have some questions, since I've only put in like 6 hours:
- Chars can die of old age? I worry 'cause of the long periods of rest they spend in town, some times almost for 2 months.
- Something veeery strange happened in the prince mansion, i believe during the second mission there with the goat demon: i defeated the demon and the quest completion notification appeared, still had some health above 50%, but i kept walking aroung the mansion looking for chests and to grind more, and suddenly out of the blue, a skeletton appeared, scared the hell out of me and massacred the entire party super quick and out of the blue (it's a timed mechanic? like grim reaper in other games?)
- The bloody merchant doesn't pay almost anything for the gear, but keeps increasing the potion and scroll prices: is there a way to make him lower the prices besides taking the haggle skill? (don't know if there's a LvLCap or AgeCap for chars).

1. No, chars can't die of old age.

2. There's no "grim reaper" mechanic. It looks like you've entered a room with a skeleton inside.

3. Haggle skill can be stacked + sometimes the merchant runs discounts + there's a Merchant skill that increases sell prices. Apart from that, you have to pace your item use.

Hi Dev, i've lost my save file (came back to it prompting me to start a new team as if my prevoius playthrough of x hours no longer exists)

Where is the location the save files are kept and how do i go about restoring the save file to get my old team back?

Thanks!

Investigating this issue now.
I noticed DR1 was on PlayStation by chance the other day. Wondered if 2 would also make it eventually.

As a tired person maybe playing on my TV at night in bed might be cool, haha.

Apparently I missed that! My bad. Good luck with finding a publisher.
