I gotta say, this game has incredible potential. That being said, there are a lot of improvements that need to be made in order for me to give it a thumbs up. Yeah I got it, its an early access game, what did I expect? Well I'm posting this so the Dev's can see it and hopefully take my thoughts into consideration.

Firstly, not everyone wants to play multiplayer matches. The single player skirmishes that you have are adequate at best. Currently there is only 1 map which does get old very quickly. The map itself is.. odd.. Its named Avalon plains but its packed with mountains. I got laugh out of that. Try making more maps and in all different types of terrain. Also, try making the match set up a little more intuitive, let me choose what factions I fight, and what is up with the time limit in a single player skirmish? That doesn't make a lot of sense.

Please add more units and buildings, better factions with noticeable differences, special units depending on the faction that you choose, and Vikings.. You have to add Vikings.. haha. Maybe make an empire mode for single player instead of just multiplayer. Whats up with the Veteran infantry looking like Roman soldiers? I thought it was medieval times.

One thing that really bugged me was the way you place walls. Its really clunky and time consuming. In an RTS you can't have its take 10 minutes to lay walls down. The walls don't connect to the gates and vice versa. It looks like you tried to make it so you could place a gate in a section of wall and have it built there. This only causes the gate to get built in the same space as the wall and no units can go through. But I'm sure this will be fixed.

At its current state I would give its a 5/10. I will reevaluate it again after more development has been done. Good luck Dev's and thanks for reading.

This is for anyone and Everyone i dont know if its just me but i want to see this game grow, maybe we could help the Devs in some way bring this game back to life, please share this message revive one of the better Medieval RTS games.

What a surprise!

I heard about the game first, when they annouced to release on the same day as the new total war. Now SEGA moved that game away - maybe they were afraid? ;) However, first I could play the game at PAX East in Boston, a few days ago. There I found it very entertaining. It does a lot of things right for an RTS and finally we got one in a medieval setting again. Hell about time.

The graphic needs some improvement, also the controls in combat are not optimal yet - but that is what early access is for.
If you have any love for the battle-part of the Total War series but want to have some basic base-building and ressource-gathering in realtime in it - here you go!

I really hope Early Access will help the game to grow content and quality-wise, then we can have real RTS-Diamond.
So, please devs, keep on the good work! It will be a long and harsh road to go, but you will succeed! ;)

hey is this game available to play server will not load?

Near as I can tell the server has gone down in the last 48 hours or so, today is Aug. 4th 2020. I last played less than 5 days ago. I'll update if it comes back up, other than that don't bother.

+ The gameplay consists of commanding troops and strategizing their movements and formations in rather large Medieval battles along with building up and managing your castle, resources, and structures.
+ Very similar to the Total War games while adding more real time Age of Empires-like settlement / resource building.
+ Battle other players online in large scale wars
+ Tons of units displayed on the screen at once which truly does look epic as you watch them march across the land
+ Great epic soundtrack
+ Active developers who are interested in feedback!

This game is in Early Access so don't take these too seriously
- Seems to be entirely multiplayer focused without a campaign or single player missions (besides playing against AI) which felt a bit lacking especially if you don't have people to play with. - You gain perks as you level up / earn experience for completing games which gives you some pretty severe advantages in online battles which is a bit unfair especially for new players who may get matched with those far higher level.

A lot still needs to be implemented and improved but Avalon Lords is a nice blend of Age of Empires and Total War. The total number of concurrent players is usually low which is why it was a great decision on the part of the devs to include bots and allow you to gain both xp and cheevos while playing against them.

Here is a run down of the game, you build buildings and upgrade them much like in AoE 2 to build your armies. Your armies function much like armies in Total War but they still lack a lot of control and with many of them on screen then can tank the framerate. Destroy the enemy castle and you win, when you win you'll gain xp which will allow you to upgrade your perks, so there is a progression system here.

I played it for an hour, it was fun, very east to get to grips with if you've played either of the aforementioned games.

I love it! Though at the beggining its a bit over whelming, the creators offer in depth tutorials and its fairly easy to figure out. Graphics are all right (it is a free game with huge scale battles so yeah) play style is relaxed or agressive, depending on what you want it to be. Community is helpful. And most of all, its got LOTS of potenial! I Cant wait to see what the devs do!

If your looking for a base building, Army building game to take on your friends then this is the game for you! Ignore the mixed reviews and PLAY NOW!

Still has 1 or 2 things that needs improving but they are working on it thats why its early access.
