Can't launch the game!

As the title suggests, I can't launch the game. When pressing play it says that the game is running but there is no game and the only way to exit the game is through the task manager. I have tried verifying the game files and launching steam as an admin but it still doesn't launch.

Are your graphics drivers up to date? I'm happy to aid if you need a point in the right direction.

What OS are you using? OSX? PC? What version?
What sort of monitor do you have? What's its resolution?
Do you happen to know your graphics card?
