Simple way: Find the ship in-game and press TAB to enter command mode, then press '3' on the ship to enter it's fleet menu (which shows the ship and it's production) then just alt+drag that ship into the fleet part of the screen (the bottom). Then press 3 to exit the ships fleet screen, press tab to get out of command mode and then 3 again to enter your own fleet's screen and then alt+drag the ship onto your ship area. I would suggest exporting your own ship before all of this if you haven't saved it yet.
Hard way: Open sandbox, type 'fleetpalette' followed by the mod id (you can find the ID on the mod menu page, or type fleetpalette and then press TAB to show what numbers are available to load). Then once you have all the ships in front of you, click the one you want to export until theres a greebox around it and then type 'export' followed by a ship name and then your name (no spaces I think) so e.g. export fightership SUDDExc... then you can just import via the command screen, but you have to have the right command (which means you may have to find a ship that uses a similar command). Alternatively you can open the console in-game with \ and use the import command and then follow the simple way of doing it. (importing requires a full path until beta is released).
PS. I also have suggested to dev that being able to select the command would help a lot... hopefully that's a thing eventually.
