Is this game kinda like bubble tanks?

Bubble tanks is an old school flash game where you basically drive around a battleship/tank in a world of bubbles, and can upgrade it by collecting xp from enemies that you kill (you can play it by googling it). This game seems like an evolution of that, with a lot of stuff thrown in for better customization. Can anyone confirm/deny this? I loved bubble tanks and would definitely give this game a shot if it's similar.

I can confirm it as well. Similar kinds of games. But this one is of course much more sophisticated. There are multiple factions to play as and play against that each have unique blocks and weapons, strengths and weaknesses. And for the most part you build your ships from scratch, although each faction does have an assortment of ships that you can choose from as well, or modify if you like.

Does this game have PVP or are all the enemies just AI? Is there a PVP mode that is independent from the campaign?

The closest you get to PVP is making ships for tournaments. Something like this: NMSS tournaments[www.nomoress.com].

In terms of PVP, other players can upload their designs to a server when they pass through a wormhole. The designs are grouped together as a fleet, and can be encountered as AI controlled enemies in campaign mode. Player designs also show up on test battles occasionally.

As Vimpster and sumpikrum have said, tournaments can be considered like PVP. They tend to be recorded, and can be found on youtube.

(There is another way to upload designs, but it involves sandbox mode.)
