If you've managed to mod RATSHAKER™ to work in VR, please share some footage of it here.
We're all keen to see what is possible!
Thanks!
In vorpx I used one of the standard unreal profiles, and I had to change it from completely surround to more like a 180 degree view. The low resolution of the game makes stereoscopic depth less noticeable so it's pretty underwhelming in that regard. There's also no motion controls to shake the rat in real space, and the jumpscare at the end of the game will give you a heart attack in VR. So all in all I would say that RatShakerVR is a truly previous-gen tech demonstration and is a must-try for any VR masochist.
I'm no good at recording VR footage.
I've tried it again with UEVR.
Basic injection works with 6DOF vision. I can look around, body moves with me etc.
UI is bugged - Only upper left quarter is visible for on screen text, pause menu etc. Can't see RatShaker gauge.
I've tried to connect right hand to controller to really immerse myself into the rat-shaking experience, but wasn't able to. I can't control hand with any mes I've tried, could just move the 2D Rat sprite. It's only able to be controlled with input, that calculates hand movement then moves it and raises shake meter.
I guess to fully make it work in VR, we'd need the UI to be implemented in different way, and fists should be able to be moved with some raw input to allow connecting the VR controller to
