SOLVED: Game will not load (black screen)
Everytime I try and load the game or even the performance test I get the loading logo in the bottom right for a few seconds and then the screen just goes black. I have been unable to get past this point and even play any part of this game.

I have tried verifying the files of the game and I have attempted to manually install the pre-requisites for the game through the windows file explorer.

My system specs
CPU: i5-4690k
GPU: GeForce GTX 970
Motherboard: Z97-Gaming 5
Operating system: windows 8.1 Pro
Memory: 16gb 1866mhz
Hard Drives:
250gb ssd Samsung 850 EVO (where windows and many of my apps/programs are located)
2TB WD black hard drive (where steam and many of my other games are located)

Any help would be awesome. :D:

Well I figured it out eventually, you must have this game MUST installed on the MAIN drive of your computer (where windows is installed). I hope this helps some one, since there isnt a solution anywhere online :(

Best of luck if your solution is not here! :D:

Most of the game's problems are due to the now broken directx10 renderer in windows. I posted a solution I found that I asked be stickied, but no moderators have taken notice. So here it is:

It has been working for me so far. Basically you need to find two system files related to dx10 in your windows folder that predate those altered by the microsoft platform update, and place them in the route of DMC4SE's folder. These are d3d10.dll and dxgi.dll.

Link is here:

Follow these instructions and all should be well again. It *might* also work for other dx10 games, but I can't confirm that yet.

If it helps, lets get this stickied. Its damn clear by now that crapcom have abandoned the game.
