Indeed, Dante has better dodges and Nero has an OP gun and the arm AND table hopper.
Lady can JC a couple of those enemies but they can still be annoying.
With Vergil I absolutely hate Frost and Chimera.
As I said Nero is OP basically and Dante has enough power and evasive skills to work with too.
Vergil and the rest though... Vergil has to go DT to be able to dodge as well as Dante.
Off the top of my head blood goyle, Abyss, Fallen and Vanguard were the difficult ones, the others I don't recall being too much of a pain.
Also out of all of the enemies only Blood Goyle requires you to use guns.
In 4 Blitz, Faust, Mephisto, and Chimera require you to use guns. The first three cause they're invulnerable otherwise and Chimera cause it can damage you even if knocked down if you don't temporarily stun the tentacles.
Bloodgoyles you have to shoot at first and then they die too fast.
Soul eaters are just annoying and gimmicky and die in 1 hit.
Enigmas run forever and then die too quickly.
Chess pieces hide in super armor mode too much.
The only good enemies in 3 are the sins (except the bomb) the abyss, the fallen angel things the spiders and some bosses.
In dmc4 I can say that I like fighting all enemies even the worst enemy in 4 is still an interesting fight, that being the blitz. And all the bosses are great. Too bad you have to fight every boss 3 times...
Yeah, you can melee blitz with dante and just time royal guard cancels to block the electricity.
Sacks with blades attached to them are unsatisfying to fight. Their death animations take too long.
It's more efficient to knock the cloak down and use a distortion though for example.
They were bouncy that's for sure. Not that it matters once you have 'em in the air. I'd rather them be evasive than stun resistant though imo.
Yeah but that's specifically with Dante and Nero has his OP gun, Lady can JC cancel her shotty, Trish has pandoras laser and ridiculous attakc power with DT and L&O.
Vergil has swords too but all of the good moves require some DT. Once the shields down you're good but getting it down is a bit more annoying with him.
How so?
Yeah I love JC Shotty XD. And true on Specific to dante.
On the other hand with vergil, he can at least maximize his output by having his spinning swords around him. Though it's risky gameplay unless one has full confidence in just frame tricks to dodge attacks.
In DMC4 the only enemy I would say bothers me is Blitz and the enemies possed by the forest. But after learning these enemies, they're not that bad and still can be fun, I find Blitz's charge againts in his red form pretty cheap though.
The only enemies in DMC3 that were fun to play againts were the ones you find at the beginning, and they're still fun to fight when they receive stronger versions of themselves, but they're most of the time the same enemy.
I feel like DMC4's enemies are much more fun to fight and to combo, I do think though that the mini boss in DMC3, the reaper, was better, but that's about it.
Also on bosses, I feel like DMC4 has better bosses, Cerberus may have been too much of a difficult fight to put it at the begining, Berial feels like a better way to do it. Cerberus is just very punishing especially considering at that given moment Dante is very limited and his health bar is very low and a boss that comes after Cerberus, the flying worm, is an absolute joke.
