A quick status update from things I know:
- DMC4 SE uses a new version of MT Framework engine, that means no mods are directly compatible. Some mods might still work after being repacked.
- Model format is different, so we'll need an updated model import/export tool.
- The game likes to use a specific texture sub format which isn't reverse engineered yet, which is currently a big hurdle for creating model and texture mods (if anyone here is knowledgeable about DDS DXT compression and wants to help out, please contact me).
- Some tools are currently being made to make music modding easier.
- I've made a small mod for randomizing current battle music, and I'll release that later today after it's been fully tested.
- I might also make an advanced button mapper as the game is super dynamic with letting you map practically anything to anything, but the menu UI doesn't let you.
DmC:DE heavily pulled from mods fans made via reverse engineering using the xcom version of a mod tool for UE3 that ended up working for DmC extraction.
The only real flaw with it is that it changes the color of Dante's coat (if you notice, it's mostly black).
Of course, though that video was of the original PC release of Devil May Cry 4. I'm not aware of a rough analogue to Crazy Blue and Stylish Red for the Special Edition.
