I suppose it's harder to rapidly press the button with a controller than a keyboard (yeah you need some finger speed).
Practice is the only solution.
It's already far beyond fast.. Not okay at all. Gonna try turbo though.
Logically speaking you would need to mash even faster in turbo, but there's a chance that normal speed is bugged. I'll give it a try and edit this post.
Edit: Works perfectly fine for me. I guess it's just a practice issue.
Yeah, on turbo i can't even do it on keyboard.. Do you remember how the similar Dante's combo feels? It doesn't require effort at all.
I've been playing DMC4 for like 7 years by now, i know its engine, hitboxes, exploits, timings, tapping force etc, etc.. i mean, i'm quite familliar with its mechanics.
Even considering Vergil is new to DMC4, his other button mashing combos (Force Edge B, Yamato C) don't feel any different to me - it's the same timing and the same tapping speed i used to put into Dante's and Nero's combos.
So please believe, if i'm telling something's not right about this particular one, if my thumb feels like a schnitzel after trying to pull it off - it's quite possible something's really not right.
And i'm not saying everyone has it broken, maybe it's only me experiencing some sort of a bug of input lag or whatever, just wanted to leave it here, maybe the Capcom guy will notice it.
It reminds me of the problem with Killer is Dead revival QTE which was impossible to accomplish at 60fps because of the input registration issues. It was eventually fixed by some .ini editing.
Try inputting the combo as Y (pause) then just mash Y rather than YY (pause) mash Y. Easier to buffer.
I'm not playing on turbo however.
Is it possible that, like some others said, this is something that is pulled off easier if the Style gauge is higher? That's how Dante's Million Stab in DMC3 worked anyway.
Yes, that's how i basically do it. And it's much harder than million stab in DMC3..
I'm not playing on turbo either. I doubt it's bound to style meter, looking at his other combos but i'll check.
Though, I seem to get it working without pausing after the first Y also. It's just tapping speed (I'm on turbo also)
oh, sweetie..
