No windowed mode works just fine

Another way that is listed on pcgamingwiki ( https://www.pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Devil_May_Cry_4#Issues_fixed ) is to copy the dxgi.dll and d3d10.dll from C:\Windows\Winsxs folder into your game folder.
If you decide to run the dxvk directx version, the folder to install them is also in your DMC4 installation folder (where the .exe is.)
This (DXVK) fix worked for me with the alt+tab issue 100%. Can run fullscreen and alt-tab np.
