Stuck in "Now Loading..." at the first mission

Gonna keep this short. As soon as I start the game, the first cutscene plays out (the one with Nero fighting demons and stuff), then, when it ends, another loading screen takes place. The neon lights blink for a moment, and then it gets stuck completely, and I have to alt + f4. I've tried messing with the settings (mainly refresh rate and turning vsync on or off), neither seem to have any effect. Whats weird to me is this: A few months ago, when I only had 4gb of ram (single channel), I tried playing DMC4SE. I gave up after the third mission due to the performance being quite bad, even on a low res (and for whatever reason the speed is tied to the fps, so the game felt like it was in slow motion). However, despite that, I didn't have any other technical issue. No frozen loading screens or anything like that. Few weeks ago, I got another 4gb stick, and now not only do I have 8, but I'm also running in dual channel (which for those of you unaware, makes a toooon of difference in performance for integrated cards). I decided to test DMC4SE again, and, to my surprise, the game was running buttery smooth both in the performance test, and in my previous save file, which was in the third mission. I also didn't have any problems loading said save file, and, again, game was running perfectly. So I decided to start over, and then this happened. I simply can't get mission 1 to start properly. Help?

I've been having the same problem just today as well, and seem to coincidentally have it happen after the first cutscene on this first mission, i tried loading it in windowed mode when it didn't work in full screen and found this error message, it may provide a hint to someone looking to fix our problem.

First switch to windowed mode and make sure there is no error message shown at the background during what seems like "stuck at loading".

Also not sure if I understand that correctly. Are you able to open Performance Test from the main menu or not?
