Dreadnaught has the player pretty much take Zero Damage when in use, but in order to use Dreadnaught for a decent amount of time you would need a full Royal Guard bar, in order to get a full Royal Guard bar Fast you would need to preform a bunch of Perfect guards. If the player is
skilled enough to be able to pull off Perfect Guards consistently then that make the use of Dreadnaught pointless, and the Bar better used for dealing damage with Release.
DMC5 didn't keep Dreadnaught for a reason. Royal Revenge is a much better ability for an average player still learning RG
It might have seen better use as a passive upgrade for Devil Trigger while using RG instead of an actual move.
But some newer players will probably want the defense over RG's damage output. It's a shame, but some folks just never fully utilize RG simply because of how much skill and practice it demands.
I mean, I'm not really one to talk. I use the Juggernaut form all the times on LDK and DMD, since I'm too reckless to bother with Perfect Guards in the first place. But the core issue remains - Dreadnaught is just not worth it.
