Exceed is not working

I can't use the Exceed, neither using the keyboard key nor the controller, when I press either "Q" or "LT" nothing happens, I've been playing until after the first boss but still nothing changed.
Anyone knows how to solve this?

It should work. You can either press Exceed in 0.4-0.6 sec. after the hit connects, or in 0.1-0.2 sec. before hit connets.
Try holding the button for some time, you will charge the sword manually.

I'm not even trying the timing Exceed after the attack, I mean that the normal one, while nothing is happening doesn't do anything, it only works after cutscenes when for some reason Nero is already in the pose like I've targeted someone and pressing both the target button and the Exceed button doesn't seem to do anything either

I'm having the same problem. Did you ever find a fix? When I unplugged my control, the keyboard worked, but when I plugged it back in, both did not work.

Does that mean that the Triggers don't work at all ?
In that case does your controller use DInput or XInput ?

Nope, haven't found anything, left DMC4 there after the issue arised.

The trigger works, like with other characters the corrisponding button works, it's just for Nero, I can't use the Exceed mechanic, even when standing still and not attacking.

I'm having the exact same issue
Left and Right trigger work for all characters but do nothing on Nero. No way to exceed

I know this is a dead thread and all that, but I figured out that on the PC port, the controller and the keyboard interfere with eachother. Unplugging the controller allows the Q button to work for the EX, but with it plugged in, NEITHER work, even if you reach over and hit Q mid battle
