For now, here are problems I know about:
1. Immediate start-up crash. Can be fixed with this guide: http://steamcommunity.com/app/329050/discussions/0/1291816880499283959/
2. Crash without any message, seconds after launch. It's caused by Discord Overlay function. Can be solved by disabling Overlay in Discord.
With crash dialog appearing, there must be extended information which you can view inside it. Check the thread I've linked and see if that is your problem. If it is, you can find the solution there. If it's not, you can post that crash information here. Specifically, I'm talking about "problem details", like shown here: https://i.stack.imgur.com/CnHZQ.png
There should be a menu that shows all application crashes, from there you can "view technical details" about each of them. Copy those details for your latest DevilMayCry4SpecialEdition.exe crash here.

THIS IS THE MOST RECENT. NOW I HAVE JUST HAPPENED TO HAPPEN.
Since it may have something to do with controller support, I'd also suggest disabling Steam Controller support like this: Steam > Settings > Controller > General Controller Settings > untick all options with "Configuration Support", there should be 3 of them: PS4, Xbox and General.
Some people say it may have something to do with USB devices, so try to unplug or disable as many unused devices as possible.
Also what's your hardware? CPU/RAM/GPU at least.
CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-6700 CPU @ 3.40GHz
Memoria: 16 GB RAM (15.96 GB RAM libre)
