28th March 2019 fix for Trainers and DDMK

Found a fix for Trainers and DDMK which the update today broke for DMC4SE!

IF YOU WISH TO USE DDMK with 4SE SuperTrainer you can now use any version of DDMK as long as it is 2.7 or above!

*Make sure you replace ^ (dot) with "." without quotations.

Download these files, extract then overwrite them in your steam Special Edition folder and enjoy playing 4SE as usual!

Go to your local folder and rename 223kb sized steamapi.dll to something random like "useless.dll"

Download these 2 files and place them in your steam Special Edition folder and enjoy continuing on like everything's normal. Works with Super Trainer V9 and DDMK everything tested and works.

**22 June 2023 seems to have made the game crash from failure to read files. Make sure the game is installed on your C:\\ which is your main drive with Windows/User > AppData in order to play the game normally without crashing with or without SuperTrainerV9.**

You can check it if you've done it correctly by looking at the file sizes for each file:
DMC4SE.EXE = 15,436kb
"Useless.dll" = 223kb
steam_api.dll = 143kb

Edit 1: You can go full screen and then windowed when changing resolutions to maintain the 120fps and above. It doesn't run as well as before but it still somewhat works.

Edit 2: It appears that the update also screws around with the memory and causes crashes for users on Windows 7. Luckily this method also fixes all those issues. Thanks to setrika_panas

Yes you will need DDMK 2.5, and Super Trainer along with Parsec for wireless online multiplayer. Free cam mod should be with SuperTrainer V8/9. If its a serperate mod please let us all know and post below!

Yes, we've solved all the issues and Percival even ran into a issue where his monitor was too large for the game at 144hz and instant black screen crashing which we solved in 4 hours by manually hex editing the latest .exe and all cheats in 4SE's super trainer worked with the exception of Slow Mo kill.

You have to read the notes, sorry I forgot to answer your question for so long you use Numpad to move the camera around and zoom in and out.
4, 8, 6, 2 follow their notation of Left, Up, Right, Down respectively I think Pan up and down is 7 & 8 and zoom is 1 & 2 with 5 being lock camera.

Hey, I know I'm kinda late replying in 2023, I just wanted to say how many times I'm getting virus warnings, I know you replied to people earlier saying they're false warnings, but I'm getting them a lot though and it's kinda worrying to be honest
Also, if you know of any I'd love a video tutorial on how to set up ddmk and the super trainer, I'm a little lost because even though I think I did it right, when I try to open settings in game it just crashes

Use the Mega link in the OP, it's not a virus. You need the folder labeled "Siyan_SuperTrainerAndBackpatch.zip"

Extract the contents of that folder to your DMC4SE install directory. You'll now see Super Trainer there too, which you can start after launching the game.

This backpatch (rolls back to the previous version before Chinese language support was added) also allows you to use DDMK. Instructions for installing and using DDMK can be found on the DDMK Github page.

Cause I took the files out of that and put it into the Special Edition folder and it still freezes when I activate the trainer options.

You can use 7zip if you like, but it's just a zip file which Windows can also handle. Within the zip file is a folder titled "Siyan_SuperTrainerAndBackpatch" and within that folder are all of the files you need. Those files need to be extracted directly into your DMC4SE install directory. If you don't know where that is, right-click DMC4SE in your Steam library, select Manage, then select Browse Local files. That is where all of those files need to be placed.

All you have to do is extract and overwrite the files in the siyanbackpatch.rar to the main install folder. Make sure your files look like this:

(Look carefully at the file sizes of exe and other files to make sure its correct). Just tested with the exception of Vergil Doppelganger no crashes so far unless CPU has spike.

The Kyrie.dll and dinput6.dll is for a seperate trainer called DDMK you can find on GitHub. There's no virus, the reason it gets flagged as one is because this trainer rewrites the game code at assembly level to provide enemy infinite health and other options. There are some viruses that also work that way, but this trainer would not be used for more than 8+ years if it was a virus as we have many modders now that can look into these programs.

Another issue is that there seems to be an error with the way the exe reads files from different hard disks, so please install the game on the main drive (usually C:\\) as Windows/User > App Data.
