How do I beat the stupid blue ghost enemies in chapter 2?

Shoot them: Nothing happens.
Slap them: Nothing happens.
Grab them: Nothing happens.

Hit them when they try to poke me: they stagger a bit. Progress!

Hit them when they try to poke me 1 million times: Nothing happens.
Hit them after staggering them: Nothing happens.
Grab them after staggering them: Nothing happens.

Shoot them after staggering them: They stagger even more with every shot. More progress!

Shoot them after staggering them 1 million times: NOTHING. EVER. HAPPENS.

HOW. DO YOU BEAT. THESE MAGGOTS?!!?!??!

'stupid blue ghost enemies' doesn't really narrow it down, so nobody has any clue on what the ♥♥♥♥ you're talking about. But if it moves and it has a health bar, you can kill it by any means.

They are called Mephisto's and yeah they are a pain your first time around. You need to keep the pressure on as the "cape" regenerates. Its best to use a charged shot and grim grips to drop the cape (whilst they are flying around) and then they will fall to the ground.
Then keep attacking it with your sword, whilst charging your charge shot (fire as soon as it reaches its Max), then after about 10-15 seconds Buster it. It should die after one or two cycles, depending on difficulty.

Thank you, but I'm way in the beginning of the game. I can't charge anything. At least, the game hasn't taught me that I could yet.

Use buster (grab/pull them) if you don't have lvl3 charge yet, second fastest way to remove their cloak if I'm not mistaken.

Don't snatch, use buster grab (buster without locking on) that does the most damage without using charge shot.

Bunch of different ways, I'll assume you're nero: Level 3 charge shot = instant decloak, snatch spam, jump cancelled pistol shots, buster punches...

They die so easy as nero even when there's like 6 of them. You just need to keep charging your gun up.
