Please help! Error creating file
I get an error message and I cannot open the game. Error message:
Error creating file C:\Users\beeli\OneDrive\??????\My Games\Restaurant Emprie 2\CONFIG.DAT

I was having the same trouble once I installed the game from Steam. I believe the game installs to find a main path destination to your PC, in which the game chooses "OneDrive" and doesn't find a direct folder path outside of One Drive. So what I did was I took the game folder and move or drag it outside One Drive and placed it directly on my desktop. I clicked the games shortcut icon, the game started right up. So try what I did and see if that works, good luck.

OneDrive isn't a good place for putting all of your games, and with how deeply nested the path is, you're likely hitting path length limits.

After initial install I get error message E\My games\Restaurant Emprie 2\config.dat (I dont know why Empire is spelled wrong, and the drive is an ascii symbol, not E.) I dont use onedrive. Any suggestions?

I found that "????" this question mark (in the one drive pathway) is my folder name in Thai language so the game can't read it. I change the folder name into English and it's work!
I just re-installed this game after not playing for years and came up with the same error (C:\Users\beeli\OneDrive\??????\My Games\Restaurant Emprie 2\CONFIG.DAT). I simply deleted it from my OneDrive folder and it worked.
