2) yes, with the stress of combat they don't realize they are injured until adrenaline drops.
4) you can bomb whatever you want, but some targets have priority (it's indicated in the target caracteristics). The more fighters and injuries met, the more your crew will gain experience.
Your objectives in the SC campaign is to strike the Strategic priorities as determined by 8th Air force HQ . As the war progresses on the ground, targeting priorities change ( follows history) . Check the mail in the SC office for info and to gauge how well you’re doing. Your bombing results (esp key priority targets) , destroyed enemy aircraft , losses etc are used to determine failure/success (I don’t know the exact formula used) . To do this you develop a strategy to recon, select targets, plan routes, manage you’re bombers, train crews etc. If unsuccessful you’ll given the boot early. If successful after 25-35 missions you will be promoted out of SC .
The SC campaign occurs within the context of the actual war. It would be unrealistic for a single bomber, squadron or even an entire bomb group to have a significant effect on the course of history (exception -Enola Gay)
Hope this helps- Vox
