And I agree, that fight is just terrible.
Were you attacking the head at the time? It normally counters headshots with the grab, but you can avoid it if you dodge immediately after.
If you were attacking the head, then maybe that's a function of the fight. Like a strange chance at a "decap crit" or something
Honestly, this game is bonkers enough that a chance to "crit" the boss and end the fight early makes perfect sense. Then again, the game is also kind of janky sometimes and it could just be a glitch, so it could go either way. ;)
The thing is, the first time I had it happen, I was normally attacking the front legs with the scythe UT, but because I was at a distance, it turned towards me and got slapped in the head.
Lol I wonder if it was like that in Sigma 2. If it was then it may just have been an intentional design, in which case good on Team Ninja because this boss sucks
