movement makes me wanna kms
The movement in this game is so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ frustrating it's insane, forget the combat being hard, doing the parkour, now that's the real difficulty. It's so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ clunky and unresponsive, just lemme kill mobs I dont wanna do this ♥♥♥♥

Its not the movement, its you. Game is one of the smoothest hack and slash games out on the market.

Well, don't jump unless you are running the right direction...

Agreed, the platforming in this game is downright terrible. Anyone who says otherwise is just getting defensive because NG defined their childhood, or something.

Ryu can only turn and jump at fixed angles and doesn't have 360 range of motion, so actually aiming at a platform that's near you but not directly in front of you is stupidly clunky.

This game is basically a reskin/retexture of a nearly 10 year old game. They didn't update the gameplay/controls at all, and while some of it still holds up today many aspects are notably dated.

this game is not newcomer friendly; its not like dark souls that is old but the great game design makes up for it; with ninja gaiden if you didnt play back in the day just skip

I wouldn't really treat the bad controls like they're some kind of badge of honor.

If this game was coined as a simple remaster then yea; expect the dated, clunky controls of a 10 year old game. This is priced and sold as a Remake, though; they really should have cleaned up the controls and camera at least a little.

The controls aren't bad, you just can't or don't want to get used to them.
Dev: makes very versatile controls that accounts for a ♥♥♥♥ ton of situations, yet mostly works intuitively.
Bad players: ????
Definitely one of the stupidest game decisions that ever made at 2025. I wonder if they're gonna keeep this lazy clunky parkour for NG4.

I think what OP is referring to is doing some of the more difficult parkour maneuvers mid fight. For example on chapter 1 there is a crystal skull hidden in a walkway and the only way to get there is to run up a tree at the correct angle and jump off it. There is an enemy up there and on Very Hard he has a rocket launcher and is taking shots at you the whole time. You don't have the bow yet so you can't just shoot him. The only way to really deal with him without spamming 1000 shurikens at him is to run up the tree and jump in. This is hard to do because the angles you need to run up walls have to be pretty much perfect and the camera gets in the way and makes this more difficult. There are certain jumps you need to do besides just this one where there are enemies spamming rockets at you and you need to be precise AF or you will eat damage from these pricks.
There are only a handful of segments like this in the game though so it's not really bothersome barring those few examples.
The thing that is pissing me off is the damn dogs. The dogs that have explosives and gigantic health pools are immune to dismemberment and kill you in 1 grab on Master Ninja. ♥♥♥♥ this game.
