Why did they have to bring back the filler levels?
I'm a fan of the original. I prefer the original. But I think this game is gorgeous. Despite being in UE5 it runs very well, looks amazing, has great atmosphere, etc.
If it weren't for the fact that they ♥♥♥♥♥♥ with the enemies and went with a Sigma-based experience, I would probably like this version of the game more than the original. It's just way too easy-- a pitiful casualized experience with less content than the original somehow. Enma's fang is cool, I like a lot of the changes they made to ♥♥♥♥♥♥ sections/ bosses, I like how they ADDED fights in some sections, etc.
It's not ALL bad.

But WHY oh WHY did they INSIST on including the same awful filler stages from Sigma? I don't play Ninja Gaiden to play as anybody but Ryu. The bosses for those levels are awful and don't play like Ninja Gaiden. The characters are lame and no I don't give a single ♥♥♥♥ about the epic jiggly tiddies or whatever. I'm here to play a videogame, not gawk at poorly dressed women beating up ninjas. The characters themselves play like ass and if you don't have a playstyle that's conducive to their design then you're just screwed. Don't like large heavy weapons? Sorry, you better cope with being slower than molasses for a whole ass stage. You actually like being able to jump on top of enemies as Ryu? Sorry, you don't get to do that for 3 levels. It's an outright punishment for anybody who's even moderately familiar with the mechanics of the base game because none of the other characters function the same, and they ruin your muscle memory.
There isn't even an option to skip them? You can't even choose your character? You can't do anything like that? What the ♥♥♥♥? Who thought this was a good idea? Random coomers in the team who wanted their favorite waifus to get a whole level just for them?
It's just stupid.

Speak for yourself. I enjoyed the Rachel, Ayane, and Momiji sections.
to me it seems like the usual purist extremism, the bonus levels are well done, it's not like playing Rachel in the first sigma or the battle against the statues in sigma 2. Vanilla wasn't as perfect as people say, it had several flaws and Itagaki's admission some parts were rushed. Did anyone like the bow and arrows in vanilla?; In my opinion they did a good job putting the most successful parts of 2 and Sigma 2

To be fair Fighting some of the bosses with them really sucked... as they clearly weren't balanced for them. That said, overall I really enjoyed playing with them. They made for a fun change up of styles/gameplay. I just wish we could select them for chapter challenge like in NG3RE.

yeah because you play on normal, try it on mentor or master ninja, by far the worst part of the game

Nah it's much better in Sigma 2. Removing UT and making the damage it does vs enemy completely random was a classic Sigma 2 improvement over 2.
I actually like the characters (except Rachel) but on master ninja they are some of the worst levels in the game, especially Ayane's.
I think NG3 RE is the way to go for the additional chars, bcs they feel way better to use in that game.

Ayanes was a nightmare on mentor, she dosent do enough damage. I actually hate everything they kept from sigma in this game, the red and blue spider brothers are annoying as F aswell.
This is literally my first time playing a Ninja Gaiden game since I last played the original when I was a kid. I completely forgot about this until reading it just now. I even remember how terrible it was way back then.

I just started the game now, but I also agree that it feels a lot easier than I remember it being. I can't recall if the original had harder difficulty settings, but the default was definitely harder than it is here.

Overall, I remember this being a much better game than what this is so far. So far, it's ok but doesn't feel like it's anything special. I've also heard people describe it as gorgeous but I really don't see that either. There's nothing wrong with it, but it's not some super enhanced recreation. The camera controls are my only real complaint so far, since I'm constantly having to recenter it.
