This game trashes Devil May Cry
At least in Ninja Gaiden your enemy fights back. In Devil May Cry your opponent literally stares right at your face begging you to combo him.

And before the Devil May Cry Nerds get angry at me I've beaten DMC 5 multiple times reaching DMD. DMC 5's DMD mode is equivalent to Ninja Gaiden Sigmas easy.

If you want to see Devil May Cry enemies being aggressive, try Devil May Cry 3.

Devil May Cry 5 is often criticized for having more passive enemies than Devil May Cry 3,4.

It was still too easy for me
Personally I enjoy both series and really find it unfortunate how the two are constantly pitted against eachother all over the internet in such a polarizing display (fans only seem to take sides for one or the other but rarely do I see any show support for both even though I think they don't really play the same despite being grouped into the same subgenre).

I grew up with Ninja Gaiden and didn't play DMC until about a decade after Ninja Gaiden, but those games still hold a special place for me and without DMC we may have never gotten Ninja Gaiden at all, or at least as we know it today.

There's no denying the influence DMC had on not only NG, but also God of War and countless other badass videogames from my childhood.

It seems like you're pretty good at games. The reason Devil May Cry is considered easy is probably because of the big difference in enemy design. The Ninja Gaiden series has an overall oppressive enemy design, but Devil May Cry has lost that design since 1. You have to accept that each game is different because each director pursues a different direction.

I am a Devil May Cry nerd and I am hardcore player of these games since DMC1 and NG1. I can tell you that the fun factor and replay value of this NG2 is miles ahead of Devil May Cry and even my fav game DMC5 but then again I also have to say that DMC5 is miles ahead of this in every other department like story, music, direction. Even gameplay wise I think DMC5 is a little bit better. As for difficulty I have to agree that NG2 Master Ninja difficulty is way harder than any DMC game in DMD difficulty.

What you are describing is just 2 character action games with different direction.

NG's enemies are aggressive, speedy and relentless. Take your guard down for 1 sec and you are gonna get hit like crazy. However, your main char is also a speedy ninja, can wall run and dash / flying around the arena. How the players utilize the mechanic to manage the situation is the core and the fun of NG.

DMC, in my opinion, many people don't understand that being stylish is a core part of the DMC series and gameplay. While the encounter is a little bit easier and have more breathing room, to finish the arena or boss fight stylishly is a challenge and difficulty on its own. Most of the more presentable DMC videos are about styling the boss and combo making, and that takes a lot of skills and executions to achieve.

Just 2 cents from a guy who really loves char action games.

Might had a point, but shame for the low effort bait at the end. Still I'll make my point anyway.

DMC5 is certainly easier than NG games, it's easier than other DMC games as well (not including 2). It was balanced for modern audiences. The original DMC3 Dante's Awakening with yellow orb mode was certainly giving people a challenge back then when we were used to harder games.

DMC games are easier than NG games when it comes to just beating the games on any difficulty with any means necessary, but that's not where the main challenge of DMC comes from. Style and end game rank is important to DMCs game design where as Ninja Gaiden takes very utilitarian approach to it's combat design.

Master Ninja Ranks come really easy in Ninja Gaiden. If you are good enough to beat the games on Master Ninja you are pretty much automatically getting Master Ninja rankings too. Just Spam Enough UTs and they are almost guaranteed.

Now let's see you get SS rank on every mission on any (but the switch version) of DMC3. If the games are that easy, it shouldn't be a challenge for you.

Sure the more passive behavior of enemies allows you more breathing room, but that is not the only challenge in the game You can't just spam the most effective attacks to beat the room that will plummet your combat rank. Ninja gaiden is the opposite as spamming the most powerful crap is the easiest way to get karma, the game actively encourages it. In Ninja Gaiden you are pretty free to take some damage and are expected to use items. In DMC Items are designed as a crutch and players are punished for using them. You won't be getting SS rating if you get hit or use items.

You could use the super costumes as those aren't penalized, but that would be weak for someone who finds these games easy.

They are different philosophies, Ninja Gaiden has more of a scrolling fighting game approach where survival is everything, DMC is more focused on style and combos. I like both and thank God there are different products in this industry

DMC is better in every regard except for combat. What's the point of learning all those combos when you can get through the entire game mashing one button and occasionally dodging.
I like both series and I do not care if one is easier than the other. No one cares if you S rank DmD or even beat Master Ninja. Same thing applies to Fromsoft games. No one is impressed you beat one of their games because any game can be beaten if you keep at it or in the case of Fromsoft, bang your head against the wall enough times and get lucky or just use a meta build to cheese through the game.

So you're telling me girls aren't impressed that I beat every NG game on Master Ninja? My life is a lie.

The thing is you don't need to be stylish. You can be braindead and mash the square button on DMC and just get by easily.

Mission ranks are inconsequential. I could have beat a mission and get a D rank on DMD but it doesn't matter because I still beat it. And just because I got a D rank does it mean I had a hard time. I could have mashed my way and dodge occasionally but got a D rank cause I didn't combo.

That’s life. People are always going to make anything a competition. It’s why wars exist. Sucks I know. I’m guilty of this evident by my post.

Good thing DMC’s director left. No more DMC games in the future. I hope FromSoft or Team Ninja takes the reins on DMC and transform it into a whole new formula.
