Isn't this camera confusing a little?
I've never played original game so I want to buy this remake. But such camera seems confusing a little to me. There are many moments when your character is completely hidden behind enemies. Is it comfortable to play with such a view?

I played slashers like Darksiders or DMC and all of them had adjustable camera you could turn as you wanted. Or at least it was locked behind your back. So, does NG2B cam feel natural during gameplay?

The camera is fine, except maybe for few platforming section which are still annoying AF.

The camera was always a bit janky, especially when chaining UT/OTs. You're probably gonna want to hit that "center camera" button a lot (and turn up the camera sensitivity).

The camera is trash. It's very disappointing that they haven't fixed it
Yeah, I was hoping for a modern camera option. The original system also being an option for those who somehow like it is fine, but it was outdated on release and almost anything else as an option would have been an improvement. This is coming from someone who has played through every version multiple times.

Yeah, playing it on Gamepass. The camera is atrocious.

Just let me control the camera myself. I don't know why the game is constantly making annoying adjustments. The whole game is fighting the camera.

I just really hope that NG4 has modern camera controls and not whatever this is.

Camera is actively horrible, I've had so many fights where I'm near a wall and all I see is the wall. It will also sometimes seem to glue and track a single enemy and wildly sweep around trying to track them even though they aren't the one I'm attacking. Hoping for update or mods

The camera forces you to be aware of your surroundings and by aware, I mean be acutely conscious of what is happening off-screen. If you can learn that, you'll be a better player not just in this game, but pretty much every game. It's not friendly to casuals.
Doesn't bother me at all, it just takes some getting used to. Back in 2004 I would have complained about it, but after years and 3 games of it, I'm just so used to it now.

A bad camera isn't under the umbrella of "git gud". I've beaten the game before on Master back on 360 and it was bad then too. I don't understand the #GamerElite mindset that every issues ever circles around the topic of difficulty like a holy grail. I like the game difficult, I also like seeing what is on the screen. Adding more input delay would also make the game more challenging but I don't see the people clamoring for that.
I find it works quite well most of the time, since it usually frames the combat well in many areas. Most of the time when playing this I don't even touch the camera at all which I really like.

It is frustrating that you can't quickly flick it into another direction, but most of the time it works well. Just have to plan the fight a bit, and work within the camera space. You can also use shurikens to detect enemies.

I mean, you can flick it in whatever direction you're facing with r1/rb in addition to cranking up the sensitivity. Not sure what else you guys expect them to do in a game with this many enemies. It doesn't feel good, but I think it feels as good as it can for this kind of game.

If it had a lock on feature it'd be cancer due to enemy movement speed and the sheer number of them. Just wouldn't work.

press R1 to recenter your camera.

It’s made like that on purpose

I'd highly recommend turning off the camera assist in the control options -- yes this means that you'll have to control it entirely yourself (which sucks with the default layout unless you're claw-gripping) but it will stop moving into stupid positions on its own at least.
