Is there a reason why they remade 2 before 1?
Is the second game considered better? I’m just curious if it’s been stated why they remade Ninja Gaiden 2 before 1.

Does the story matter in this series?

You talking about the remake from about 20 years ago or is there a more recent one?

Because fans have been clamoring for a remake of the original Ninja Gaiden 2 for years, so Tecmo realized they could sell some UE5 remaster slop by remastering Ninja Gaiden 2 Sigma (again) and marketing it as "the ultimate Ninja Gaiden 2 experience" before the word got out that it was just Sigma 2.

Talking about the remaster of the remake that was released on here a while back.

There's also one other reason for remaking 2 before 1. Basically Sigma didn't butcher the feel like Sigma 2 did. While an improvement in terms of balance, performance, and polish.... Sigma 2 felt like a completely different game due to enemy counts being sooo damn small (like 2 or 3 vs 6-12 in the original), along with the enemies themselves being way more aggressive & spongy & their axing the gore and dismemberment... utterly neutering the game's sense of brutal violence.

Appreciate the explanation. Never had an Xbox growing up but remember hearing about the series. Is the difficulty similar to Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance?

Far harder. The closest comparison would be Vanquish on God Hard, but IMO NG2 on Mentor difficulty is already harder than Vanquish on God Hard, and Master Ninja is exponentially harder than that.

Metal Gear Rising is a cakewalk compared to this.

NG2's difficulty is more like this:
