THAT Hard To Port Actual NG2?
Seriously, you'd think it would be simple to just port over the original game/keep the original gameplay difficulty intact.

But apparently it takes 3 different ports (2 Sigma, Sigma Plus, 2 Black), and none of them are the actual NG2.

And yeah, as a sonic fan, if there’s one thing fans of the series have is a lot of dedication and some insanity

Some times it’s insane arguments about nitpicking the slightest character design or line of dialogue, and other times it’s speedrunning 360 to PC port development or making our own fan remakes just to see an alternate take.

(helps that Sega doesn’t block that type of activity and generally even encourages it. So there’s no fear of random cease and desist nonsense. Imagine all the fan content for other series if their publishers were equally lenient)

and where did you see this because I havnt found anything about it, just sonic unleashed, and a reddit page discussing how people wish it would happen
https://www.reddit.com/r/ninjagaiden/comments/1j2rj2b/apparently_theres_someone_working_on_a_recomp/

Don't expect anything for a while, but its being attempted.
Never expected to hear this level of good news just randomly browsing.

I will watch that ports career with great interest.jpg

theres been a break recompiling xbox 360 games to pc , wih sonic unleashed, so im sure someone will use the same method to port the original ng2 to pc

Yeah, the XenosRecomp tool would make porting the original Xbox 360 version of Ninja Gaiden II to PC with enhancements totally plausible. It's still a lot of work and probably at least a year+ away even if development started tomorrow.

It’s already started

But yeah, it’ll still take time

They lost the original source code.
♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. Tecmo refuse to release II for one simple reason. They still hold a grudge against Itagaki for leaving and suing them. The "lost the source code" is absolute ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.
And their games have sucked ever since, Nioh 1 and 2 were ok but nothing like ninja gaiden. I can see why all the sigma games sucked
I don't get the praise for Nioh to be honest. Exploration 'almost' doesn't matter in the game. Level design itself is quite good, but all you need to do in a chapter is find some of those healing spirits and for the rest it doesn't matter. Anything 'good' you'll find will be replaced in the next 2 missions or so. And the game gives you so much junk that even while rushing through, you'll still have to spend several minutes selling garbage every few missions.

Also wasn't a fan of the combat. Like typical Hayashi-style, it's often over when you get hit once from a minor mistake (often leading to a wombo combo). And I wasn't too fond of the stamina recovery system. In a game of Gears of War there's a risk/reward. In this game? There's isn't a risk/reward system tied to it, if you don't use it it's just simply not very playable because your stamina will drain too quickly.

Those are just a few things, but the game has a crapload of those minor issues and oxymoronic game design choices (such as nice level design being pointless if there's no reason to explore). Even today I still think Sekiro is the game that Nioh should've been.

^ you just dont understand how to play Nioh.
Most dont and think its played like some kinda Souls game.
Nope.

Sekiro is just a parry sim, theres no depth its pretty over rated when it comes to combat.
Not bad, just very basic and nothing special

I know how to play it, it just isn't very good. I know how to play Souls games, I know how to play button masher hack & slash games and I know how to play technical action games like DMC and Ninja Gaiden. Best case scenario Nioh's gameplay is about the same level as Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor's Edge... which is still only average at best, but has many huge flaws. And it's not too surprising considering it's the same devs.
Kaizen 16 MAR a las 9:38
Yea the loot is absurdly oversaturated and theres a ton of inventory management, but their system designed around it for multiple purposes so its not Too bad.
But you claim theres no risk reward yet think Gears has it. If you miss your reload time in gears then you gotta simply wait to shoot. Its nothing I would praise in any regard.
In Nioh, timing your ki pulses constantly lets you create the intended flowstate of combat.
I will agree there's too many mixed game design choices and some are there just for the sake of it like the mechanics curve over time that gimps you from being able to enter flow state until you get all the things you need to make it happen, that exists only for the sake of a false sense of progression which is dumb.

Combat wise tho Nioh is an incredibly high skill ceiling of creativity but the vast majority will never experience it because they play it like its Dark Souls.

It is a souls rip off. I thought that was obvious? Thats what Team Ninja does. (Virtua Fighter/Tekken -> Dead or Alive, Ghost of Tsushima -> Rise of Ronin etc)

Its not only a souls rip off, its a pretty mid rip off as well. Still not a bad game and worth your time if you buy it on a sale or get it for free.
Kaizen 18 MAR a las 3:14
Thanks for proving my point.
The only 'Souls' about it are superficial surface level irrelevance, not the combat.

Fancy combos are irrelevant when the game tries so hard to be an easier souls clone and never encourages the player to be creative anyway.

Lol what, no. Just because yall dont stance flow and cant differentiate game mechanics doesnt make it not so.
Everything is a 'soulslike' to yall its stomach churning 😆

This is the most objectively incorrect take I've read today. Nioh plays nothing like a Souls game, other 3D fighters exist, and the only thing Rise of the Ronin has in common with Ghost of Tsushima is it's an open world game set in historical Japan.
