Stairway section on master ninja
This was pretty brutal, lots of enemies. At the end it was full on 10 incendiary enemies at a time or something. For sure seems closer to OG 2 then Sigma 2, used all my health items lol

Yeah the stairs are great now, back to being the most accelerating moment in the game once more

In Master Ninja, in total it is 20 "batches" of enemies. The first 3 batches are 8, then 2 batches of 10. followed by 8 batches of 9, one batch of 6, and finally 6 batches of 6 incendiary shuriken ninjas. The first 14 batches are the white cloth ninjas. This is a total of 172 enemies to clear the stairwell, compared to the original Ninja Gaiden 2's 108-111. The biggest problem with this stairwell is that the IS ninjas do not delimb easily so they take ages to kill and require cheap tactics to kill without eating a ton of damage because the incendiary shurikens explode on contact with walls and cause AoE damage.

Sadly we are going to have to depend on mods to get the delimb rates higher and enemy health lower, I seriously doubt we will get another update from team ninja at all.
Against the white ninjas, I go to the top then spam Enma's Fang UT. If only a single ninja approaches, instead of absorbing essences to UT a single ninja, I try to just stall that ninja with jump arrow. Air Izuna Drop is also useful. When more enemies appear, I absorb essences to UT multiple enemies at once. When the clawed ninjas start spawning, I use the Lunar Staff 360UT and Wind Blades. Since de-limbed enemies move slower, I de-limb a few clawed ninjas, do not OT them, then move the fight down so I don't get swarmed.

EDIT: OK, Lunar Staff 360 UT is not a good choice against the clawed ninjas. Due to height differences, LS 360 UT can get canceled partway and get you killed because you may not realize what happened with explosions blocking your view. I died twice this way. Tonfa UT chain is the way to go. Wind Blades as back up.

And thats EXACTLY what i am trying to tell people all the Time. If guys DO WANT more Enemies yada yada than this also means the fundamental Gameplay goes out of the Window. Say Goodbye to Combos, say Goodbye to Tactics with different weapons.

When 10 Ninjas are in your Face you are NOT, and i dont care what they say, you are NOT going for a String -> de-limp -> shurrikan cancel -> kill or whatever you do usually to kill Enemies.

This Concept of Enemy Mass made for pure Gore and "Fun" wont fit in this Version.

And to be honest. Back in "OG" Ninja Gaiden 2 it wasnt pleasent on Master Ninja either. I dont know what they try to explain all the Time. The constant projectile Fire made i almost impossible to fight not to forget the 11 fps.

Using weapon strengths and tactics is one major part for me of Ninja Gaiden. I know. Many many people simply enjoy using UTs or watching Ryu slaughter through thousend and thousends of Ninjas and all the body parts are everywhere. I ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ get it.

and all goes to "well we need a mod to make this enjoyable." ok guys. maybe there is a reason why this stuff isnt so Fun after 10 Mins. Respectfully, if i want to play 1 hero against trillions of "fast-dying-Troops" guess what? I play Dynasty Warrios, or Berserk. Its exaclty that. You as the hero kill thousends and thousends of enemies with some blows.

Ninja Gaiden it is not meant for this. It worked on Xbox 360 but not in this version.

Yes we COULD go patch for patch until we have the game just like "back in the good old days my boy" But that would be ludacris. The Devs made THIS version and even gave us some adjustments but if you truly think they will go patch for patch to change the whole game to a version they are CLEARLY do not want to re-release. You are COOKED.

As many many already said. yeah its a bummer to not have all the projectile weapons and the uts and the costumes. I agree. But it is what it is.

I prefered this section of the game BEFORE the patch. Now its just a UT spam or Nimpo Marathon. And yeah, a sweet spot to farm.

For me, i took Volfs weapon and cleared all of em with UTs. I saw no reason to spend all my healing items to eventually die to a AOE Kunai or unlucky hit from a Ninja and start all over again.
Before the pacth, the spawn of the black spider was slow asf ♥♥♥♥ and boring. This section without a huge wave of ennemies feels wrong.

the delimb rate and the HP is a problem tho

Yeah the AoE damage is really frustrating when it kills you lol, other than that I think it's doable. Chapter 14 was fun too
While I like the change, I hope they add a save statue at the bottom of the stairs. At the very least, a checkpoint after King Quator boss fight. It's the only boss fight in the game that doesn't have a checkpoint. Having to re-do shadow demons and the boss fight after dying to the clawed ninjas doesn't feel good. It takes like 15~20 minutes just to get back to where I was.

My earlier method of using Lunar Staff 360 UT is not a good choice against the clawed ninjas. I was about to say tonfa UT, but you got it haha. That plus windblade spam and you're good indeed. It's funny how MN on Ninja Gaiden 2 is just about mastering i frame combo chains from UT's and OT's because the enemies are so aggressive it's impossible to normally play it lol

I agree that Ninja Gaiden 2 did break some of the foundation the first game had by introducing the OT's and making the UT's this long/strong. Playing the game on master ninja requires you to exploit those mechanics and cheese the game with a few i frame moves. It's fun for a good long while, but the first game was definitely better balanced imo. I also thought that OG NG2 on master ninja was borderline unfair, glad I don't have to do that again lol
