Life is Feudal: Arden

Life is Feudal: Arden

How's that "WE DIDN'T WIPE AND WE DON'T CARE!" working out for you devs?
You didn't wipe on steam release and all the new players got steamrolled by guilds in full plate within 2 hours.

Your player count is crap and you artificially inflate it by not closing the launcher when you exit the game so it appears there are 2x as many players playing.

The hit detection in pvp is worse then games that are literally 20 years older then this. Significant hitching/stuttering after doing any kind of terraforming on your claim.

This was a quick asset purchase from the previous bankrupt company and all you did was add p2w items. I look forward to your eventual post that says "LIF servers are shutting down" in the next 4 months.

Hello,
We understand that different players have different expectations, and we appreciate the feedback.

The wipe was planned ahead of time, with the decision to implement it after the CBT phase to ensure a fresh start for all players. The release on Steam depends on the review process and necessary adjustments, which can sometimes lead to delays before everything aligns for launch. We understand that it may have brought some challenges for new players, but it also provided an opportunity for many to integrate into the community and explore the game further.

As for technical issues like hit detection and performance, the team is actively working on gradual improvements and optimizations to enhance overall gameplay. These changes are being implemented step by step, with each update bringing us closer to a smoother experience for everyone.

LiF: Arden builds on the foundation of LiF: MMO, but it also introduces significant changes, such as the new map with separate PvP and PvE zones, new buildings, and a revamped character progression system. While we know there's always room for improvement, we’re committed to ongoing development and appreciate players who engage with the game and share their perspectives.

Our goal is to ensure long-term improvement, with ongoing updates focused on optimizing and enhancing the overall gameplay experience.

How's that daily player count of less then 300 a day working out for you? Got enough whales buying $100 skins to pay your team?

Hello,
the peak player count officially registered exceeds 1200 players. You can look up the actual numbers on our Discord server.

There is a 500 ms lag in an instanced arena with 10 people. No veteran believes you have 1200 people actively playing.

What you DO have is 1200 people with a launcher that doesn't close to artificially increase those numbers.
Chill Mar 17 @ 4:14pm
but in order for the launcher to still be running....they would have had to open the game no?

And the launcher closes when you close the game. what are you taking about?

Ok, again some false information coming out here. The player stats shown on the Discord server are now a combination of the numbers for Arden plus the numbers for Godenland (LIF: MMO), which still has a few loyal players. These were added together to inflate the total figure for appearances sake. To suggest that the PCCU (Peak Concurrent Users) of 1200 was just for Arden is disingenuous.

LIF: MMO still reaches about 150 PCCU daily, so that means that Arden was only at about 1050 at that time. The weekend peak counts are almost always the highest point for the week and this is a fairly significant fall from the days immediately following Steam release.
Yesterday (Monday) Arden was at about 960 at peak when you account for the Godenland numbers - so below that symbolic 1k level.

Thats still far in excess of the 300 originally claimed, yes absolutely, but if we're going to throw official numbers around let's at least get them right :steamhappy:

Ouch! Let's look at those figures again 1 month on:

PCCU: 684 for Sat 19th April.
In the space of 1 month the player numbers have very nearly halved. And that figure includes the 100-150 players still playing on the old MMO version. So it looks like Arden is very rapidly approaching that 300 level that the op originally stated.

I think its safe to say at this point that Arden has failed. Hard.

Hello,
a decline from initial hype numbers is bound to happen to any game and within our expectations.
It is always important to mention that online games have seasonality, and the player count will organically fluctuate over time.
We continue to develop the game. In-game events also receive attention of the players. We have just had our first 3v3 PvP Tournament - go check it out! You can watch the recording on our Twitch: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/2437064184

HAHAHA, wow. Still have your heads in the sand huh?

Here's your steam charts:

https://steamcharts.com/app/3285700

You are peaking at 383 players which is 100% a lie because your launcher doesn't close out when you exit the game. So the actual ingame players is likely closer to 100 at any given time. What a massive, MASSIVE MMO you've created.

Maybe if you wiped like I and hundreds of other players stated so we could all have a fresh start you've actually have a player base. Instead you catered to older players who whined and cryed because they didn't want to lose progress and guess what? Day 1 of Steam launch we were fighting guys in full plate on mounts with siege weapons and we had ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ sticks.

I hope you didn't have your retirement tied up in this cash grab because holy crap are you not going to make a profit.

I understand all of your comments, Bodil, but, unlike you, I do not hope they close down. It's one of the impossibly few game platforms that offers immersive play, crafting and terraforming without fantastic monsters, zombies, or fairies. It still has exceptional qualities: realism, beauty, and brilliant creative tools. So, if I may suggest, could you offer them constructive criticism and give them suggestions on how to overcome their glitches to go on to restore the best mmo out there? Please.
To: Bodil, again. Or perhaps you could help build a game like LIF and Second Life combined that is realistic but without sexual perversion dominating the game (as in Second Life) and is within the budget of the average person

Hello,
Steam does not close when you exit any game, too. Launcher does not contribute to the in-game populace.
I am sorry to hear that it was hard for you to enter an already existing world. Maybe you should consider a game with a shorter game session and not a MMO, which has a perpetual game model.
