What was the game engine used for this game?

I really think the developers could've made a kick ass engine if they kept up with it

The PC version uses something called the Ecstasy Engine. This was originally a Dreamcast title released in 1999. Dreamcast actually used a custom version of Windows CE... it was a system that was way ahead of it's time on a number of levels (R.I.P. Dreamcast).
