hoses on the water tender
one thing that bugs me a bit is that the water tender does not have hoses on it when it should, essentialy the heavy rescue truck is equiped apropiatly for a heavy rescue vehicle however the water tender is simply a firefighting vehicle but is not equiped properly. i always send my water tender to a fire first, not including an MVA (motor vehicle accident) to which i only send heavy rescue. if its a garbage fire or something the water tender is all you need, but its crew are completly useless without a heavy rescue truck near by. now i would like to pose you a scenario, and as i have changed a file setting so that fire spreads faster it is very plausible, i have a small garbage fire which spreads into nearby trees and buildings and i have only sent one water tender, in a realistic scenario (and this is coming from an actual firefighter) i should be able to set my truck up as the first attack and get my 3 crew members out on foot to contain the fire with hoses, this should realistically be done with a single truck. im not asking for the water tender to be rescue capable but what it should have as a minimum is hoses and extinguishers. because it is infact a firefighting vehicle, if it had these two basic pieces of equipment it would be perfect. is there someway to get the devs to hear me and actually patch that into the game cause it is extremely essential to the game.

I have the same issue with the ambulance team not being able to stablize wounded for transport. I can only assume in the country where the game was made, their ambulance staff do not get EMT training and simply know how to drive and cart someone. Heck even most firemen as you would know have limited EMT training for basic cpr, stenting blood flow and so on.

I can only assume either things are that different over there, or they where trying to add more vehicles and things to try and remember to send to disasters to make the game play harder.
But i agree with you.

i think with the ambos it could be alot more dynamic, but its not so bad, i mean here in Australia our paramedics are all EMT but we also have special ops paramedics and critical incident paramedics that drive cars like the emergency doctor. so i think of it a bit like that. but yea im only trained in basic first aid the same certificate any civilian would have, though my training is alot more involved than what civilians would get we do all sorts of scenarios and my training is applied to be used in real situations like MVA's etc, we did a full training session one time where one of our firefighers who is a tow truck driver brought two beat up old cars and we had some guys acting as casualties and another member who is an ambo was able to borrow and ambulance for the day and brought it up for the training, the one scenario lasted 3 hours and felt very real. we did everything from arriving on scene to getting the casualty out of the vehicle and on the stretcher. it was fantastic. though i have luckily not needed it yet as the only MVA's ive been to all the people involved walked away with no injuries.

Hope you keep getting lucky bro, i seen alot of fire/emt's quit shortly after a nasty MVA. Specially if they sadly involve little ones.

But yes we have specailly trained IC paramedics for really bad incidents as well, but they dont go to every call :D I couldnt even imagine the bill for that, much less the insane amount they charge in the states already for just a standard EmTrans.

add firehoses and extinguishers to a water tender. simply put. Emergency 2014 had the water tender setup right.

Well you need what we have in the UK and what my station has and thats a water/ladder/rescue appliance carries the usual firefighting gear hose and large tank but also RTC and SWAH rescue equipttment makes a lot of sense and if i'm being honest id rather one appliance like this and a simple water/ladder for small rescues. Heavy rescue could be used for bigger smashs and structual collapse.

ps the ladder carried is a 13.5m not a high reach.

thats pretty cool. in Aus we have a number of pumper variations and Heavy Rescue trucks, we have ladders but not many, theres only a real call for them in the city, then you have Hazmat, Structual collapse and a few other specialised appliances, then we have as a seperate entity the Rural Fire Service which im in, we operate totally seperatly from Fire & Rescue, we have different types of Bush Tankers which are Appliances that specialise in Bush Fires, we also have a few Pumpers, two in my district, we also have little cat 9 strikers which are litteraly Landcruisers with a tank and pump and two cabinets on the back. as well as large bulk water carriers. we are mainly bush fires but we can also attend other incidents like MVA'S AFA'a etc however we are not rescue capable at all, we have no units at all in the RFS that are rescue.

Sweet thats interesting to know. Our rural areas unless there pretty quite all now have rescue pumps as its a very all round vehical and with a 13.5m ladder its a handy appliance and unlike in the USA for a house fire you only need 2 pumps and less firefighters rather than 3. By ladder trucks do you mean Arial ladder trucks or just ladders on a truck?

oh yea aerial ladder trucks, they are awesome looking appliances.
i wish we were rescue capable i love rescue so much. nothing more awesome to going to a totally messed up situation like an MVA where peoples lives are in the balance and its complete mayhem and fixing it, taking control of the mayhem its so cool, very honorable.
another thing in Aus is our police are also Heavy Rescue, so in the suburbs Fire Rescue do all rescue operations but in the City its police rescue. Fire Rescue do have a heavy rescue truck in the city which is just there as a support and ity barely ever gets used

For belgium it is kinda same, each time a firefighters is send out, it is accompanied with a heavy rescue, but i do have to agree that, each firefighting vehicle should consist of hozes
