in summer the growth-rate is super super low and winter has no growth at all.
Honestly I say screw it after 150 population. I fence in a large field of crops and grow them with powers (of course I grow them during spring/fall while daytime and raining).
And better your ratio for 1 established farm is equal to 25 people. then 40 people for one established animal pen.
The thing is they're not cooking rations. It could be they're prioritizing cooking the meat which I'll just see about disabling. I have 200 raw veggies in storage from the holy potatoes I'm having to force grow just to keep myself scraping by.
I've been having to force grow holy potatoes, dunno if those count as seeds once harvested though. I don't see anything that says they can't be used however.
That might actually be a good idea, it'll probably force them to prioritize rations.
I have 34 organizers so I think we're good with that.
In case anyone else drops in on here. So far setting cooked me to 0 production seemed to have mostly worked for me. I still get the occasionally starving villager but my village is also massive so it's possibly the long distances of walking that's taking some, but so far the cooks are actually making rations.
I sometime have that problem until i start making water bottles. Some villagers are workaholic that will not stop even if they are dying of thirst. Use the hand to shake them up, once confused they will go fetch the water they need.
From my experience, having just enough food to go by will prevent cook form working. They only cook excesses and remember your animals also eat some. If the game make the calculation you are too short, you won't get any rations.
Setting everything else to 0 might help, i never actually had to do it. It is better to have farmers tending to the animals pens than using organizers. Having dedicated workers will prevent you from having low food in some pens.
Lastly and most important i realized quite late, keep rangers hunting. Pens recover slowly, slower than the map spawn wild beats. Make sure there is a least 1 spot of food outside your village, it will draw wild beasts there. Your ranger will do the rest.
