Music won't turn off
This message is primarily for developers. Though if someone has a clever fix for it I'm all ears.

Very rarely do I like a games music track enough to listen to it over and over for hours. (The last one I left on for the whole game was Morrowind.) But usually I like to have the sound running so I'm not missing important parts of the game. So having the sound and music volumes seperate as a gaming standard, for me, is a really really importand thing. No offense to the games musical creators but, Im already done. I'm sure your music is fantastic but... it needs to stop. For me anyway.

And thus my problem. The music won't turn off. I go out to the settings, turn the volume to zero and it sounds like it stops for the rest of the track... and then there it is again. Retuning to the main menu and the settings I see the volume is still zero, so there's nothing more for me really to do excpet come here and complain. (Insert sounds of me having a screaming crying ten year old type tantrum here.)

Anyway, humor aside, this is a bit of a thing for me. Though I'm probably one of the few. I like this game, and I'll unplug my head phones for now. But I'd appreciate if someone could look at this in the next update or three.

In any case, thanks for listening.

You can go into the Retro Pixel Castles installation folder and delete all the music files.

The path should be like this:
...C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Retro-Pixel Castles\res\music[http//C]

That should do the job, good luck.

That will likely make the game crash. :/

You should be able to go into settings (in the main menu) and lower the volume. Although there's currently a bug in InDev 21 where the change won't take affect until you restart the game. So just lower the volume, exit out of the menu, and restart the game and you should be good to go. :)

Okay. It's still there. But I'm not sure what I'm hearing at this point. It sounds like part of a sound track coming trough, somewhat eratically. Some of the weird percussion is apparently villagers chopping trees. But... is there like a disjointed soundtrack for construction or something? It does seem to happen primarily near the village center.

You're probably hearing the building/chopping/mining sounds effects. ;)

Selva, I've had the same problems getting music to turn off.

I thought that. But if this is the x/x/x sound effects they have a very... heavy metal repetition to them. Really does not sound like sound effects. And I would expect it to be a tad more... consistant when near the chopping/building/mining. And it's only consistant near the chopping. I don't know. You are probably right.
