Defending against Fire Elementals?
Hey guys. How do you defend against fire elementals? I keep losing around day 17 because of them. Moat helps, as does flooding the maze but all water is frozen in winter rendering it useless.

Fully upgraded towers get a final bonus of element choice. You can make bow and ballista towers that do ice damage. They'll generally suck against almost everything, but considering FEs are really the bulk of your problems, you're going to need 60-70 percent of your towers ice-based arrow type defenses.

The other things you'll want to use are fire, mostly, for zombies and such, and electricity for slimes.

Thanks. I'll try this strategy out on my new village. Those elementals really suck. How do you keep large arrays of magic towers running though? Even running 4 magic towers requires me to build 6 or so maxed essence collectors.

Make sure you have plenty of crystal and its refined product stocked and supplied in the collectors, and keep in mind that those things are cheap to build and expensive to upgrade. If you have the space, it's wise to have a large field of collectors if you're going to be magic-heavy in your defenses. You probably shouldn't upgrade any of those unless you have a surplus of those resources and it won't get in the way of building something else, like if your cut stone is maxed out.

Anyway, they're very easy to build from scratch, and if you're desperate for energy you can always use the dissolve spell on a bunch of corpses, a crystal field, or a forest.

Having a couple outer layers (or all of it) of your maze being curtain walls helps. prevents them from using ranged attacks.

Thanks for the suggestions, guys. Sadly, I think I'm still missing something. On my latest map, I had 12 fully upgraded collectors, 2 crystilleries and one big crystal field with motivators to keep regenerating it. Yet I still kept running out of fuel and eventually died to it. I'm starting to think it's a fundamental issue with my defenses so far, as I use elemental bolt towers as my main defenses combined with a maze.

As i suggest. 1st 2 row of tower dont upgrade to max level. These can kill of zombies and slime easily.
Ypur issue is spectre which make first 2 line useless. These u need to use element towers to hammer them.
To overcome fire elements. U just need overwhelming firepower of normal bullets. .

Form a L shape maze.
Zombie entre and move off to the side.
Flame element will stop.and shot at tower.
Zombie will rush left and leave bullet tower range. Bullet tower will start to clear out flame elements.

Cast mending when required.
Just save essence.

There no way to total prevent tower lost due to fire element wave.

I just wish there is a water spell to put out fire.

Are you using Golems? they clog up the maze and hold enemies in place for your towers to savage them. And I prefer Established Ballista to save energy. A few upgraded to ice paired with some spray/bullets for skeletons, and a whole bunch of phantom darts kept out of range of the maze. (So they wont shoot unless spectres walk through all the walls.)

not the best screenshot as I am not sure how to upload the full screen game screens to steam and having issues with imgur, but shows the basics. Fueled by 8 Collectors I think this town is now around day 20.

one other thing, if your maze is getting totally overrun the banish spell is AoE and kicks all enemies in range out. Might help give your towers a breather.
