Lumberjacks and Miners?
So i built a makeshift lumberjack station directly next to a forest and gave it people. Nothing happened. The discription said that lumberjacks automatically gather wood from trees, but the are just idling around. The same goes with miners and stone. Is this a bug or am i doing it wrong?

They'll still only gather from trees/rocks you've marked for harvesting.

Then whats the point? Other then being faster, there isnt much of a purpose to them if you still have to order them to harvest

The point is that they actually keep harvesting continuously instead of only going to cut lumber when something they're building requires it.

It improves your throughput to have the lumber already cut for the builders.

They're absolutely necessary for the smooth running of any operations. You need a stockpile of wood already cut if you're going to successfully crank out a bunch of things that require the resource in a timely fashion. If I need 2 ballista towers, a bow tower, and full ammo along with extra ammo made, I'm definitely not going to want to wait around while people chop wood *as needed* to get all that done. It would take forever, if it ever got done at all. Builders only harvest wood and stone if THEY need it to build, they don't deliver resources to people like fletchers or tumblers.

Go ahead and try playing without a lumber shack or miner and see how things go. It won't be pretty.

Indeed... fletchers and tumblers have to actually cut trees or mine stone *themselves* if you don't have lumberjacks or miners.

They will use the righr rool for the job.
Which improve efficacy.

U will notice builder cut tree slower then lumber jack

Fletchers/Tumblers (and all other refining/manufacturing jobs) actually can't harvest on their own, but that can grab stray resources on the ground. So if you don't have the harvesters a large majority of your refining/manufacturing operations will mostly grind to a halt. :)

The only workers who can harvest are builders, harvesters and labor golems. But the builders will only harvest when the village is completely out of the resource they need for a project.

Adding on to what others said above, harvesters also do their work slightly faster, and get additional speed boosts once you get a tool smith cranking out axes and pickaxes. :)

Early phase they r useless. But later it important.

But at corruption containment phase. It best builder harvest themselve as it far from base. Do it depends.
