Walls & Water
I have a lot of monsters going around my wall that is against a large lake... anything I can do to prevent?

Build a wall around it. :)

Trick some people use is to use the destroy terrain tool (bottom right of the GUI) to make a land bridge in the water, then build a wall right on top of it, that way they can keep some of the water on their side for the purifiers.
