Win Condition
Is there any win condition?
I jus migrated to a new region, gonna settle new village and then repeat it again and again until i cant defeat coruption? I'm curious in which direction you want to develop the game, for now i'm impressed with how smoothly it runs and how enjoyabe the game is :)

The 'win' condition unlocks after you've survived 3 days, and is to survive in every world map region for a year. Up to 33u2 that would take 200-300 hours of gameplay, if you didn't lose a region, but 33u3 has increased the year length, so it's going to take significantly longer (lots of changes coming).

Also, the win condition is really just a carrot on a stick. These sort of genres never have "real" win conditions. The few that do, it's just an excuse to say you can win. (eg; escaping the planet in Rimworld, or beating the Nether in Minecraft, beating the various near-impossible bosses in Don't Starve). But the core game isn't really about winning, it's just about expanding and ever-improving.

I haven't gone to another region yet but I figure if I plan it right I can use firepits and golems to eradicate the corruption before the day comes that their ever expansion finally gets me. if it's not possible to though...well that's depressing to think about. guess that's the point of the title though.

I get the core philosophy of "the journey is the reward".
However, a win condition is more than just a carrot on a stick.

The main goal is not only there for a pure game mechanic approach ("if you do x, then you win the game"). It's not just an excuse. The main goal sets the framework for: Why do I interact with the game world.

Would Factorio still be a great game without the goal to build and launch a rocket in the end? Without a doubt. But then: Why did Wube say: "Let's make that the main goal for the game!"? It is not important, because launching a rocket is so much fun. In fact, it's not fun: You just push the button, the rocket starts. "The End".

But:
It is really, really motivating to pursue something.
It is important, because the end goal puts your journey into perspective.

I enjoy Rise to Ruins so far, it's really something special.
