3840x1080p (super ultra wide resolution) [Semi-solved]
Hi i'm new to this game and i bought it some time ago and wanted to play this today, it started default fullscreen borderless which is 3840x1080p resolution for me which means i didn't get to see the play button to start playing and i was totally lost how to start playing, the screen/ui was apparently cropped off instead of being stretched to fit screen but i didn't realize this at first)

I thought it was "one of those games" that is sorta meta and doesn't hold you hand and you have to learn how to even start playing, i searched online for ways to start playing and i see others with similar game build but they had a play button so i was even more lost.

Then i tried changing resolution to downgrade it to 1920x1080 and then i saw the problem, this game doesn't support 3840x1080 resolution which i think is more common than 2560×1080p (ultra wide) because of people with dual 1920 monitors get 3840x1080p while only "ultra wide" monitors get 2560p, the 3840x1080p resolution should therefore also be supported, not only the 2560 ultra wide and down.

Please add support for 3840x1080p resolution and maybe even higher because the aspect ratio of 3840x1080p is two monitors wide, there will come a time we will have super ultra wide aspect ratio but 4k res so 15360x4320 (32:9 aspect ratio 4k super ultra wide)

I'm confused why ultra wide seems more supported than super ultra wide, when one of these two can be achieved with two regular widescreen monitors instaid of a special ultra wide monitor.

I think aspect ratios will not get wider than super ultra wide (32:9), tho i see people with three monitors to avoid a bazel in the middle.... theoretically maybe support for tripple monitor 4k aspect ratio may be the end goal for a while which would be a new aspect ratio if achieved with one monitor (48:9.. ops never mind, you can divide by 3 to get 16:3 aspect ratio, tho i'm not sure i have heard of that before), i think three monitors wide is end goal, but i'm happy if just super ultra wide is supported.

I was sorta happy the game seemed to support 3840x1080p res at start but was left disappointed, do you know how it feels to be forced to play a game on 1920x1080p resolution on a 3840x1080p screen? it isn't very pretty, half the screenspace is black and it isn't as good as just using a regular 1920x1080p monitor (widescreen), because it is virtual borders so it is super sharp and takes away from the experience

I think nowdays with so many aspectratios coming out that games on steam at least should be forced to have supported aspect ratios and resolutions displayed in the store before anyone even purchase it, i might not have bought this game if i knew it didn't support 3840x1080p (i guess i could use the refund policy if i don't play more than 2 hours but it can take 2 hours to know if the game works on ultra wide aspect ratio at least, it is better than widescreen...........

Oh i should say i'm on the latest unstable build probably but i had the problem on the stable build as well i think? same main screen at least, the game installed on regular build / no experimental, so the issue persists regardless of version i think?

EDIT: I found potentially a solution by seeing "more discussions" topic of "UI scaling?" and developer input:

Open up profiles/settings.properties, find forceInterfaceScale and you can change it to any value you want. -1 is automatic, anything else will scale proportionally. (2 is double size, 3 is triple, etc.) You can also set fractional resolutions like 1.3, 1.5, etc, but it may distort the GUI graphics a bit.
If the game's scale doubler didn't kick in for your monitor, chances are you don't want to go up to "2" though. I'd try around 1.5, 1.6 or so and work from there.

A proper in-game slider in the settings menu may be added down the road. :)

I scaled the interface to 0.5 and i can see the play button in 3840x1080p res, im so happy!! :D (tear eyed) im gonna risk my refund and see if this is playable. Hmm after further testing it doesn't seem to matter what i enter in the "forceInterfaceScale=" field, the main screen UI seems to stay at the same size, i see the play button tho so i guess i should stop messing around trying to match it as close as possible to the original experience (tried scale =0.1 and up to =0.99, same size) i think it is just the automatic scaling (=-1) that causes issues? this is weird.

Well have played the game for about an hour now and everything seems to be working, the settings say i have UI scale of 0.7 tho, it is entirely playable, but i still think the start was rough and may need some consideration and work put into it for smoother experience.
