Elemental bolt towers are a MUST for me, and should be for anyone else if they want to make it past a full season. Spray towers are honestly crap but I love watching their animation, they just look so cool!
Yeah, the patter-patter of them firing is great. I don't think nthey are crap though. Crush damage is useful to have. What are the attract towers about?
Wait, attact towers will HARVEST YOUR FARMS? WUT???
Great Caesar's Ghost!
Around half way through year 2 & I have maybe 15-30 tiles of pathing with 2 elemental towers & 4 bow or 2 bow & 2 ballista all split between fire and ice, then like 20 odd combombulators to help get rid of the excess stone
What do you mean, "split between fire and ice?" Sounds like something i have not seen yet.
reasoning being that afaik no mobs have resistances to ice and no mobs take more damage from poison
You dont need anything else for defense, just stack those and use alot of energy collectors, along with maybe attract towers to suck up all the gear that the monsters drop.
Sadly this is the truth, hopefully new monsters and stuff have more diverse resistances.
I make sure to have a large maze entrance, build from the outside in. 1 shock tower around a bend, fully upgraded. The second a bit farther in, also fully upgraded, and the last two don't usually need upgrading. Usually also use some of the tumbler supported tower early for damage and CC, but it's just for redundancy later.
I can make use of the rest of the towers and none stand out as bad with the exception of the spray tower. Not that the spray tower itself is bad, but the elemental upgrade for it will drain your mana reserves too fast compared to anything else and was a mistake the few times I tried it.
