how to Socket gems >

sorry if I am being thick, but how do i socket gems ?

I can pick them in the inventory and "use them" but they just sit on the inventory page, nothing seem to actually place them into an item

any ideas ?

Only thing I can think of is you got no open sockets to put the gems in.

dbl click the gem then it will show you what all you have that can be socketed dbl click the item you want it in. :) if you dbl click the gem and nothing happens you may not have socketable items.. they show a small empty circle in the stats if they can be socketed

Also, there are different gem types for different equipment slots - so if a gem gives a crit bonus, it is a safe bet that it can only be used with weapons. I'm also 90% sure that the game will highlight pieces of equipment that can be slotted with the selected gem.
