Protip: how to play Eradan as Archer
looks like theres really no threads here or on google search about which skills to trait to turn Eradan into an effective archer or ranged dps so heres some basic tips :)

you need to put points in the following skills in the 3rd/heavyshot treeline in following order:

a) put a point in "Heavy Shot" to unlock the archer treeline which is also your key high damage skill which hits hard especially if you hit the head.

b) max out "Bow Mastery" which adds huge chunks of ranged dps!

c) max out "precision aura" which adds 50% more headshot damage for a total of double more damage if you hit enemies head.

d) max out "Piercing Shot" which is a passive which adds incredible amounts of damage to your skill shot "Heavy Shot" and you should be using heavy shot for 1 hit kills whenever its off cd!

e)optional: you can points in Broad Quiver which increases the max amount of arrows you can carry.(20 extra arrows for each pt so total of 80 arrows when maxed at 2pts)

why no other skill shots like "volley" and "stunning shot"?

simple...cause your power pool as ranger is too small to handle the power cost of more than one skill shot or atleast in your first play-through!

besides stunning shot is more of a melee follow-up skill and volley shot targets random enemies so theres really no other options besides heavy shot which one shots most enemies if you hit them in the head!

whats next?

the first/evasion treeline really isn't worth it until you can dump 9 pts in it but the 2nd/ranger strike treeline gives instant results especially the massive cooldown reduction passive skill "Blood of Westernesse " which turns you into a ranged killing machine :)

blood of westernesse reduces cooldown of Heavy Shot from 8-10secs to an insanely low 2-3s meaning you can drop that troublesome horde of uruk-hais in no time and that pretty much wraps it up! (btw i highly reccomand dumping all 3 stats into power as you put points into blood of westerneese so you can equip rings/amulets that boost power/will cause you'll be hungery for power and mana pots restore a percentage meaning the higher the mana pool the more mana restored)

as for stat distribution put 2 puts in dex each lvl up and 3rd stat point in the followig rotating order: str>stam>str>will (don't be afraid to take off a few off dex to meet requirements for melee weps or armor and abstract that from future str/stam lvl ups)

Helpful but I just started the game with friends, and I don't like him at all. FOV is terrible when in archer mode and you get hit easily with only 30 degree view angle, because you can't see behind you nor beside you. Most of the time you miss with arrows that are not limitless. You also die the fastest compared to other, so even though charged shot kinda deals damage, if you miss you're screwed, thus I liked swinging sword more than arrows. But now I need to spend 16k gold which I don't even have or make new hero.. so terrible. Otherwise fun game with friends but I enjoy it the least because of the lame archery.

Also what's the point in giving dwarf crossbow... it's like all of them can do ranged damage, why bother staying archery on him.. anyway he's really bad.
you my friend do not play eradan correctly xD, not only can i kill every enemy within 3 arrow shots but im also(if you get the right mix of skills) a tank on the ground, utilize dodge, fire a shot, dodge, fire another, and every once in awhile switch to your melee and kill stuff up close, best if you have Andriel casting sanctuary on you.

Its a matter of playstyle, if you know how to use him he is amazing, if you dont....well...stick to the easy to play characters!
