Steam keys still work? Asking for a friend

A friend of mine who has not played this game (criminal!) expressed great interest!

I found out Gamestop still sells digital keys (Steam account required), but do they still work? I know the game was removed from the store, so i'm afraid he might purchase a key, but won't be able to use it, then he's SoL.

I dont see why they wouldnt work, and in the off chance that they dont, the store is obligated to give you a refund.

They do work, I bought a copy. Wish they also had codes for NWN 2 as well :p
