what better house for a pirate?
this is a pirate adventure game, not a crafting survival game.
and there are four or five to choose from at will once you aquire them.
The whole point of this game is to NOT stay in one place, you have to hunt down rival pirates, navigate the open seas, and "discover" the cool other things that I wont spoiler...
the game is not designed to "sit still".
but you seem to have your mind set on a survival crafting style game, therefore perhaps this game is not for you.
the inns are like big three room log cabins on stilts...kind of like tree houses.
Or the pirate villages could be used too, but the pirates respawn as a downsideto those.
I like having a large boat and all, but I really need something to use all these stone blocks I've been collecting. I have visions of a working pier, living quarters, and lighthouse on my starting island.
Homes that you can build, and not just a "stock square box" But something with some player design, isn't a lot to ask.
And would add that feeling of purpose to return to a custom built domicile.
The ship doesn't count, as its just one room, and hath not that feeling of home.
In fact, who would want to see all those horrible and huge towers ruining the fabulous landscapes of Salt? (And yes, I’m already thinking the game from a multiplayer point of view because I see a super huge potential here).
However, I think that an evolution for the game could be indeed the exploitation of the land masses.
Just think about it: You start as a pirate but what if you want, after some time, to found a legit (or not) colony on an island?
Do you see the world it’d open?
You could invest into defence of your colony (walls, cannon towers etc.), you could invest into commerce (port, markets.) or even research (for ship improvements and structures) or simply build houses to host new players, you could choose your flag (which would float on your ships and island).
There would be factions, wars not only on sea but also on lands, there would be siege, you could close your doors to filibusters and open it to other factions you’re in peace with…
So basically you could choose where to place and build structures on your island and upgrade those structures with time and resources, you would not be able to build structures wall after wall like in Rust.
Even with this system, every colony would be different thus making a whole server alive!
I mean, the possibility would be endless, this would be the most awesome game ever made. Think about an Anno game but played in first person perspective!
