Salt

Similar Games??!!
Has anyone found any similar games to Salt? It doesnt have to be a pirate setting...just something similar, focused on exploration and discovery...with very little hand holding and a world that lets you explore it rather then telling you where to go and what to do. I loved the blank map in salt and the different things to discover around the world.

I really enjoyed Salt but it seems games like this are hard to come by. I can't stand quest markers and a world map that tells you exactly where you are. If anyone has found a game like this please fill me in!

I tried Lavaboots second game but it didnt do it for me. Also I plan to wait until SALT 2 is fully released...I can't wait :-)

Maybe Morrowwind? I get the feeling I may have to go back to old school games to get the same feel that Salt has unfortionately...most games released these days get old for me very fast. Fancy graphics dont make a good game

How about Eidolon?
It's a walking, exploration, survival simulator. No hand holding.

Thanks for the suggestion! This looks like exactly the type of game I'm looking for. What other gems have you got up your sleeve?! This game looks great

Do you like urban exploration and taking photos?

INFRA has lots of interesting abandon/quiet areas to investigate. There are puzzles that need to be solved, but their logic is "natural" in aspect.

I love ignoring the questline and exploring. The usual big-name open-world games are great, the likes of GTA, Elderscrolls, Fallouts, etc etc etc... I like to go sightseeing on a mountain bike in GTA5, it's very peaceful and that world is incredible!
But maybe not quite what you're looking for...

One of these might satisfy, especially No Man's Sky. I only bought Salt the other day and every time I play it, it reminds me of No Man's Sky.
The Long Dark, also, feels similar. Survival mode has many custom difficulty options, allowing you to make it as easy or challenging as you like.

Exactly. Most new games are bland with fancy graphics.
