Can we climb into the crows' nests?
I want to sit in one with a spyglass while my friends steer :(

On the larger ships you can interact with the sail rigging and be transported up to the middle platform on the mast, which is properly called a top, not a crow' s nest as another poster pointed out, so I guess the correct answer to your question is no.

One problem with the not-the-crow's-nest platform is that when the sails are raised, you are standing behind them so your view forward is blocked. It is possible to stack some wooden crates or deck firepits on the top to make a staircase that lets you climb up in front of the mast and through the sail.

Oh. :( Well on that note, is it possible to get permission to build on someone else's ship?

And who made this person the authority on what is called the crow's nest? It isn't called the top, therefore it is a crows nest.

On my Ship when nearing the rigging on the side I see the word "Climb"
It is available on all three of the masts.
Here I climbed up on the mast near the wheel to show you.

You can walk around it great view.
Getting out it seems is just a matter of jumping back down.
It's how I do it.
I can also jump into the water lol you go deep.

Standing in this crows nest at the wheel end or the front end with sails up, you do get a view behind and in front unobstructed but not from the center.. However a bit of fun while standing here you can raise and lower the sails as well. Really handy that.
So lower the sails for a moment to look around with unobstructed views if needed

Before the main update that incorperated this feature one way to get up there was to run staright into the center mast I was then catapulted up into it .

Does it need to be your ship to do it? We're sailing around on a derelict pirate ship we repaired.
