Insert disc?

Anyone else getting a message to insert disc 1? Did I miss something obvious?

Cannot install unofficial patch till the game is installed. cannot install because it says CD is not inserted. I have an optical drive. I have also tried installing daemon tools along with already having optical drive.

As a long shot I installed from original CDs. This way I was able to get the registry entries needed so game will not ask to be installed. Uninstalled the CD version of the game. Modified the registry entries to point to the steam version. Now I have other options other than "install". But now the game crashes when running. But cannot run the unofficial patch till the game runs properly (more registry keys?).

I've done all of the usual stuff, moved it to a non network drive,tried different compatibility modes, disabled extra monitors. Even tried the no-CD version. Giving up. getting a refund. Will buy it again when they fix it.

where is the image of the game if I bought and downlaoded the game o.O?!
I hate this "old games on steam that don't work"... sucks -.-.

But the game was so nice... want to buy :S
