Gigantic

Great game but gameplay too fast and hectic
First off would like to say how much I enjoy this game and how much it does things right! The UI is fantastic , it has great varied characters with even better powers. Really the game is awesome

BUT

The game is too fast ...if you can't block another characters abilities or even see them as they happen then this takes the skill factor our of the game and just has you spamming keys instead. This game is great but it needs to be a touch slowed down to really be succesful and ever have any consideration towards a esport of any kind. Even as casual it needs to be a lot easier to be able to tell what is going on.

LOve the game hope you make the tiny fixes and if you do I will buy the Ultimate pack

Would be cool if it was like the GW1 PvP system

Yeah, I also agree with this, it is just too fast. I think that HotS/Smite is fast, but this game is just insane. But I guess this is what the kids want...

What is this? Too fast = no skill? I think I just walked into an episode of 'People on the internet say the darndest things'.

Fast means you need awareness/reaction/twitch/anticipation skills to keep up. If you can't keep up, that's a direct lack of skill. I mean, very little happens without my awareness, when I have a map and my eyes to tell me what is going on at all times. If you can't track a target and keep eyes on everything, then you don't have the motor skills for the game, yet. You will need to develop them, since this game is based on a lot of different skills.

If the game is too fast for you, that's fine. It's not for everyone; this game is tough. But please don't insult the game for your lack of ability. Respect it.

Not every moba like game has to be slow .. this is still primarily a shooter/action game when it comes to gameplay . Would you want to play a slow paced shooter??

The speed of it all is what attracted me to it at first sight.

I'm not a moba player and usually avoid those games completely, this is a good balance between genres imo.

OW is what you're looking for if you're complaining about speed. I'm honestly loving the old school quake feel with "hero" elements you see in mobas.

You don't seem to get the see the powers of your opponents being used then you cannot counter them unless you just lucky and spam the right key.

Here's the real deal folks ..this game will not be succesful as it currently stands ...guess what , think im wrong come back and talk in a year and you will see I was clearly right.

Diffrent strokes for different folks.

This game is a middle ground. There is a an awareness to everything that goes on in a match, know the characters, work together, and it's not that difficult. Gotta predict and learn patterns a bit too.

Honestly love every second of playing this game, but sadly you may be right in a way... Seeing ppl just giving up already :\

if this is to be a casual novelty then it is fine , but it will not attract anyone who wants to be competive and there will be zero chance of a esport possiblity. Don't know what the goal of this game is. Some games like Master X master you can see that they are shooting for esports ..this one I don't know what their intention is.

The game is great , but just like some games that have failed liek the new doom mp or the idea that unreal tournament will ever be a esport again its just not gonna happen.

If OW failed as a esport because it was too hard to watch and people found it confusing to watch than this certainly will.

The only place OW as a esport has been succesful is in Korea ..everywhere else it is a total failure. And none of the players are making any real money

I personally like it fast since every other MOBA is more slower/restricted on movement, the speed in Gigantic is a learning curve in itself and taking it away will be like lowering the speed of a racing game, it would be easier for people to get into but once you played it enough you wont find much meat on the bone, if you wanted a game that is slower then you can check out Paragon or Smite which feature 3rd person shooter elements in a MOBA setting.

This game is fast? Ohohoho my friend, have you seen Overwatch? That game is lightning quick compared to this one. Heck, in this game one-hit kills and headshots don't even exist!

I think more what the deal is, is that in Gigantic the action is nonstop. Gigantic doesn't give you a chance to take a breather, ever, unless you somehow manage to TPK the entire enemy team, and even then, all that means is that you have a chance to rush a monster down, so there's no rest for the wicked there either.

Would definitely back up that Smite recommendation though if you think Gig is too fast but still like the idea of a skillshot-based moba.

Sadly I still have to agree that this game will be dead within a year though, even though I disagree with basically all of your reasons (this just isn't the game for you, sorry). Gigantic commits the grave sin of existing at the same time as Overwatch. x.x Which for most people will be their hero-shooter of choice simply because it's more popular and more polished.
(PS: Where's my push-to-talk key dangit.)

You're not the only one with plenty of hours in OW mate, but for the purposes of this conversation, I'm talking about Time-To-Kill. And the TTKs in OW (and first person shooters in general) are generally instant or close to it unless you're playing a tank, while here we generally have a second or three to react if we're attacked. Even the fastest an assassin can manage is only a second or so, and that's if you do absolutely nothing to counter them.

I won't disagree that Gig is fast for a mobalike though, it's definitely one of the fastest mobalikes that can still be called as-such. But from a TTK standpoint, OW is still "faster". Edit: It all depends on what metrics you use to define speed. I was just trying to use the metric that seemed most relevant to the OP. Who's wrong and who's right is all a matter of perspective.

I think as well the gameplay is to fast but also the game dosent rely comunicate well how much damage you deal. The most games i play are all hit and run or one side just gets destroyed early on. The game play needs a lot of team comunication as well. If all of you run in the same direction your quite easy over come the enemy.. If one is off track.. you lose.. and the guy off track gets a high skill rating at the end that is even wors because he thinks he is doing well... Much to do her..
Tama Jul 29, 2017 @ 6:32am
I like the pace of the game

If I could make one suggestion it would be a nicer indication of losing health/ dealing damage.

I think OW nailed that pretty good.
Not that I think Gigantic should mimic OW in a major way.

Gigantic is pretty good being it's own thing
