Fair enough Silfir - in that case why not do what X-COM did with its novice/normal/classic and impossible difficulties? The new players can experience the story on easy and crank it up on normal while the pros can have the X-COM "Classic" and Impossible modes to play around with....hehe should be fun for all so now lets ROCK!
My best guess regarding Ironcast not having any as of yet is that the developers had a minimal budget to work with and the time spent balancing difficulty modes is part of what had to get cut to make it.
Fair enough - hope more ppl's then buy this game so they have more money to bring extra content and/or difficulty levels and/or missions (AND WONT THAT BE GREAT!) for us in the future :)

Thanks for the nice answer, i'll write a positive french review on steam store after some play.
In fact, as the story develops, it gets even more unclear as to who is the "bad guy".
I was playing the "disable the vip" mission, and knocked his drives out at the same time as reducing his health below the retreat point. The game AI prioritized his health over the drives disabled factor and allowed him to retreat, regardless of me fulfilling the mission conditions.
Me thinks a tweak is in order, if possible.
EDIT:
I just missed 4 times in a row with a hit chance of 82%. That game is frustrating like hell.
Are you sure the odds are calculated correctly?

If you can't attack on your turn use shield and movement to reduce damage for example.
